Cluster, Impreganted and Blade Tools

Blade Type Diamond Tools

Blade diamond tools are manufactured using superfine quality needle type diamonds, the blade is moulded as a small plate. When using the blade as soon as the first layer is completely used the second layer is immediately exposed. The blade tool gives a robust alternative to the single stone chisel dresser.

Impregnated Diamond Tools

Impregnated diamond tools are generally used to straight dress larger wider grinding wheels. These tools have a large concentration of diamond grit held together in strong matrix that will allow new diamond grit to expose itself as the tool wears. There are some advantages to using this type of tool for example higher dressing speed because of the large exposed tool surface, convenience, because you do not need to rotate the tool and a long tool life. It is particularly effective for the more severe and dimensionally less demanding applications. These tools are available in various shank sizes.

Cluster Diamond Tools

Several diamonds are set in a configuration and a number of layers for example 1 Row Of 7 Diamonds, 2 Rows of 5 Diamonds. Cluster tools are an economical substitute for large carat single point diamond tools. Mostly used for roughing larger wheels they are designed to give a constant even wear throughout the tool life. These tools are available in a vast range of configurations, straight shanks and headed shanks.
